Organic matter in carbonaceous chondrite lithologies of Almahata Sitta: Incorporation of previously unsampled carbonaceous chondrite lithologies into ureilitic regolith

چکیده
The Almahata Sitta (AhS) meteorite is a unique polymict ureilite. Recently, carbonaceous chondritic lithologies were identified in AhS. Organic matter (OM) ubiquitously found primitive chondrites. molecular and isotopic characteristics of this OM reflect its origin parent body processes, are particularly sensitive to heating. C1 AhS 671 91A investigated, focusing mainly on the OM. We that these contains signatures, but experienced slight heating possibly by short-term event(s). These support idea one or more bodies incorporated into ureilitic body. uniqueness samples implies there large variations materials solar system other than known chondrite groups such as CI, CM, CR

متن کاملTrace Element Variation in Carbonaceous Chondrite Matrix
Introduction: Chondrite matrix is defined as 'the fine-grained, predominantly silicate, material intersti-tial to macroscopic, whole or fragmented, entities such as chondrules, inclusions and large isolated mineral (i.e., silicate, metal, sulphide and oxide) grains' [1]. Matrix materials are derived from a wide variety of sources: presolar grains, solar-nebular condensates, and finely ground li...
متن کاملCarbonaceous Chondrite Fragments in the Polymict Eucrite
Introduction: Buchanan et al. [1] and Zolensky et al. [2] described carbonaceous chondrite fragments in a variety of howardites and concluded that the majority are CM2 and CR2 materials. Gounelle et al. [3] also described similar, but very small, fragments in these meteorites. These clasts are important because they represent materials that were in orbital proximity to the HED parent body (4 Ve...
متن کاملRadar-enabled recovery of the Sutter's Mill meteorite, a carbonaceous chondrite regolith breccia.
Doppler weather radar imaging enabled the rapid recovery of the Sutter's Mill meteorite after a rare 4-kiloton of TNT-equivalent asteroid impact over the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in northern California. The recovered meteorites survived a record high-speed entry of 28.6 kilometers per second from an orbit close to that of Jupiter-family comets (Tisserand's parameter = 2.8 ± 0.3). Sutter's...
